Karrayyu Oromo Program

PROtector Treatment Systems
The Karrayyu Oromo Program will provide safe drinking water for the Karrayyu people.

The Karrayyu are pastoralists, raising livestock and migrating around the Awash Valley in Ethiopia as they have done for generations. However, their ancient way of life has been threatened by loss of land to a national park and large-scale agricultural irrigation which has restricted their movement and affected their traditional water sources. Local NGO Labata Fantalle would like to install a hand operated PROtector treatment system to purify water from the irrigation system, removing fertiliser, pesticides, heavy metals, bacteria and parasites to make it safe and palatable for the local community's drinking water needs.

When will my donation appear on the website?
Normally your donation will appear on the website within 2 business days of submitting it via PayPal and no later than 7 business days.

Can I mail a check?
You certainly can. The address is PROtector Treatment Systems, 2333A Dunwoody Crossing, Atlanta GA 30338, USA. Checks must be in U.S. dollars from the United States or Canada.

What happens if the PROtector program I donate to gets cancelled?
In the event that a PROtector program is cancelled by the organization proposing it, we will contract you via email. At that time you would have the choice of either selecting an alternative program or receiving a refund of your contribution.

Is my contribution tax deductable in the United States?
Unfortunately PROtector Treatment Systems is not registered as a 501(c) organization in the United States. However we are beginning to work with many humanitarian organization partners that you can contribute to directly and receive tax deductable eligibility. If you have tax concerns, email us and we will assist you in contributing to a PROtector program through one of our partner organizations.
